Set up auth password in redis sentinel with zero down time

I am struggle with set up auth password in redis / sentinel with zero down time. Currently I have a version 5.0 in 3 servers of redis and sentinel. It is connected which a java application. I have following question - is it possible to introduce AUTH on redis / sentinel with zero down time and how steps it demand to do ? Thanks in advance for any hints.

Yes, it is possible to start AUTH with zero interrupts in Redis/Sentinel.

You can:

1. Add requirepass directive to Redis config file(s) on all servers. This enables password authentication for clients connecting to Redis.

2. Restart each Redis server one by one to get the new configuration changes and wait for the server to come back and Redis Sentinel to detect the new manager.

3. After all Redis servers have restarted, update the Java applet to include the password in the connection string or as a separate authentication command. This will allow the application to authenticate with Redis using the new password without any interruptions.

4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each Redis Sentinel server.

By following these steps you can initialize AUTH in Redis/Sentinel with zero interruption. Note that it is important to restart each Redis server one at a time to ensure that the Java application has a host server to which it can connect.
