How to use remark-variables

I can't find how to pass data to the remark-variables plugin

Example:
<ReactMarkdown plugins={[ [remarkVars]]}> Hello {{name}} </ReactMarkdown>

How do I pass the name to the plugin?

That only shows how to pass the options, but the data is not an 'option' for the plugin.

I'm assuming you mean the remark-variables project? In which case, indeed, it seems they don't. You could request that with them.
You could make make a tiny plugin that runs before remark-variables, as attachers can access the unified processor ('this'), and transforms can access the file ('file'): https://github.com/unifiedjs/unified#plugin
