I'm not sure it's possible to disable this auth currently. It would be good to understand exactly why the failure happens, if the GitHub.com token is valid |

I believe the solution is using the new Fine-grained personal access tokens (beta) instead of the previous classic token. The classic personal access token works fine when using the Github API, but does not seem to support fetching contents from raw.githubusercontent.com. When using the new Fine-grained personal access tokens (beta), both the API and the fetching of resources from raw.githubusercontent.com seems to work. |
