Question: Is this plugin still maintained?

We are using this plugin to release a somewhat complex multi-project build and as we have been upgrading Gradle to more recent versions we have been encountering various issues. We think most might be related to multi-project build complexities but that said, our build (and releases with this plugin) did work as expected with pre-v5 Gradle.

We found out that there is a wild bunch of forks of this plugin in GitHub. By the look of this repository, it might be that the development of this plugin has ceased. Does anybody if this is the case?

Also, does anybody know if there is an (official ?) supported plugin for doing releases with Gradle?
