Typescript exclude - how does it work?

I have a template folder with .ts files which are of course not valid typescript. Since the its managed via CLI.

The challenge is to exclude this folder. I tried in rollup.config.js

typescript({
      exclude: ['!templates', '!dist']
}),

typescript({
      exclude: ['templates', 'dist']
}),

typescript({
      exclude: ['dist/**', 'templates/**']
}),

Both doesn't work. Since im not familiar with the picomatch pattern, i do not really know whats the valid form. Could you provide some guidance?

If I put

import { defineStore } from 'pinia' // HINT: isnt installed, since its a template file. The context where this file is used, there is pinia installed...

above the error line, the script works. But it feels like the exclude property does not work at all.

There was a file which silently has imported one exported interface from the templates folder in a file of the src files. That was the reason why exclude did not work. Removing that import in the src/*.ts file did solve the issue.
