Swap Memory for Workers with spikes in RAM usage?

Does anyone have experience on setting the Workers to have some RAM and then additional swap memory.

Assuming most of the deployments nowadays are in the cloud, it's clear that it doesn't cost the same to have 512 mb of Ram than having 2 GB.
What to do when most of the day the worker is just idle or using very little memory, but suddenly have a spike in jobs (or even 1 job with much Ram involved)?
Why letting the Worker to be killed for Out Of Memory situations when we can just have additional Ram in the form of Swap Memory?
We could set swappiness to 0 for the swap to be used only when truly needed. And workers are very good at releasing memory after finishing each job. So that feels the ideal situation for using swap.

Do you have a case against using swap in scenarios like this? that would also be super-helpful.
