New Meetup

Where

The location you are running things in

I wanted to start a meetup in Richmond, VA.

What

A short description of the event.

A local meetup group I'm trying to get off the ground.

  • Learners Group
  • Meetup with talks
  • Conference/Camp

Links: add links, e.g. a meetup page, here

https://www.meetup.com/rustaceans-rva/

When

Insert time and date here.

First event is 2023-03-22 - intending to do this monthly.

  • I'd like the event to be on the public calendar
  • It's a repeating event, I would like to have access to the calender to do things on my own

Support

  • I need coaching or help to get started faster
  • I would like to be introduced to fellow meetup organizers in my area
  • I need help promoting

You can promote your event by advertising it on Twitter, Reddit and other channels. We understand that the breadth of this may be overwhelming for organizers and would offer to advertise the event for you. If you already have an active Twitter account and/or regularly announce your meetup through other channels you might not need this option.

  • I need additional help promoting my event

CoC

The Rust project uses a Code of Conduct and we generally recommend you to as well. We also give advice on motivations and which one could be fitting for your project.

  • We use a Code of Conduct
  • We need a recommendation for one

Hey!
Sorry for the delay, we currently do not actively monitor this repo (I should really get around to making this clear).
I just added the event to the calendar, so it can be found by others there too.

I have some notes on starting a new meetup here: https://hackmd.io/92Rbcr6LTW2yVA-FL0w5wA?view
If you drop me an email to community-team@rust-lang.org with your google account email address I can give you access to the calendar so you can add future events yourself.
