This ticket is to track organizing 2018 conference coordination as a followup to the 2016 coordination and 2017 coordination.

Right now we know of 2 conferences tentatively being planned in 2018:

Q1 (January - March)

Q2 (April - June)

Q3 (July - September)

Q4 (October - December)

  • October TBD: Rust Belt Rust

Things we need to discuss:

  • We need to coordinate on times and locations to avoid conflicts
  • How can we improve the diversity of our attendees and speakers
  • How can we address accessibility issues
  • How can we assist with advertising.

Rustconf is August, west coast. I have more info but I'd rather not post it till it's public. Conf organizers feel free to contact me for details.

It's being primarily organized by me and Boats, with Leah from Tilde doing most of the logistics (i.e. the Actual Work)

We're planning a second RustDay in Mexico City in the second quarter of 2018.

I'd like to add @spastorino recent mention of a South America Conference for 2018/2019.
