One thing that came up during the event meeting today was that we should document what we did publicly.

It's already 2 weeks after the allhands, but maybe that is still a good thing to document (blog post on community.rs)?

Maybe do something regurarly? Working title: This Week Month in Rust Community

team leads: please provide a bulleted list of your teams activities this quarter!

Switchboard:

  • Ran survey on meetup organizers, formed google group

I've also talked to a couple companies but I don't want to mention names publicly.

Events team

First of all: we're a team now! The goal of the events team is to make sure that you aren't alone in running something, especially if it's larger then a meetup!

Since then, we started working on a set of documents to help your running your event, which we will hopefully finish over the summer! We're also helping out the upcoming conference with getting set up (and if we haven't got in touch yet, we're going to be soon).

The events team is still getting started, but we're happy to have you around at our meetings and would like to answer all of your questions. See our issue tracker for details!

Content team

We've got a few initiatives on the go, admittedly a lot of this involve gathering items that pre-date the team i.e. YouTube channel curation guide.

We also have our first project! Content-o-Tron 🤖. The purpose of this project is to generate more Rust related content, initially we've limited ourselves to blog posts for now, but we'd love to extend to video and audio formats.

RustBridge team

(writing as proxy for ashley here)

We've done a lot of work on our in-a-box project, which is intended to be a self-contained "starter kit" for RustBridge organizers! Most of this work was done in person as the Rust all-hands in Berlin.

Additionally, we've started to develop our own set of exercises to be done by our students. This set is roughly based off Rustlings, and will keep the name and related resources. We definitely have a lot to do for the next quarter, and we're excited to see where this will take us!
