"Disconnected" message gone on MacOS #6865
Comments
...a few minutes later version upgrade popped up with 7.6.0. It actually seems to not only fix the problem, but Signal seems to auto-detect proxy now. |
Sounds like the latest update has fixed things, we've been making some improvements in this area. I'm going to close this, please let me know if you continue to have issues in the newest version |
The problem still there with Signal 7.7.0. |
Could I get a fresh debuglog from you? |
Sent in email, subject "Logs for issue 6865". |
@richlv v7.8.0 should have included a fix for this, can you confirm? |
Using a supported version?
Overall summary
Signal desktop app was showing the "Disconnected. Check your network connection." message when the connection could not be established.
For the past few versions, this has stopped showing up. For example, connecting to VPN severs Signal's connectivity, but there's not warning about this.
Multiple times I've written replies to people on the desktop, only to discover on the next day that nothing was sent - likewise, I've missed some incoming messages as they did not show up on the desktop.
What's worse, Signal seems to show such sent messages as delivered locally, with a single "checkmark" icon.
Currently observed with Signal 7.5.1.
