Using a supported version?

  • I have searched searched open and closed issues for duplicates.
  • I am using Signal-Desktop as provided by the Signal team, not a 3rd-party package.

Overall summary

Search functionality in Signal Desktop isn't consistent with Signal Android, for example, if I type "l'arbre" in a text message, and search for "arbre" in Signal Desktop, it will not find it, but it will in the Android app

Steps to reproduce

  1. Go to any chat
  2. Type "l'arbre"
  3. Search for it typing "arbre" in Signal Android, the message is found
  4. Search for it typing "arbre" in Signal Desktop, the message isn't found

Expected result

Signal Desktop's search functionality should behave the same as Android's (In my opinion Android's behavior is better)

Actual result

Behavior isn't the same
