Hello - just wondering if you accept donations to help support the project?

Hi Scott,

At this point, the Simple Injector project does not accept financial donations, and as long as I'm leading the project, you don't have to expect the project to do this. The main incentive for working on this project is passion for building software. This holds for myself and all the others who have contributed their time in the past.

There are other ways to contribute though.

  • The Simple Injector documentation currently runs on the Readthedocs platform, and they need support to keep their platform running. You can donate here.

  • I'm coauthoring a book about Dependency Injection. You can support me by buying that book. Besides English, the book is available in Polish and Russian. But please do not buy the book if you don't have the intention of reading it.

  • You can support with your time. Although the amount of development time that goes into Simple Injector is rather limited nowadays, a lot of time goes into supporting users. So if you can, subscribe to Simple Injector questions being raised at Stack Overflow and subscribe to new issues being posted here at GitHub and participate in questions, discussions or proposed features. In case your boss is willing to donate, let him donate some of your working hours. It wouldn't take that much time to participate or help others out once in a while.

Passion is great! I fully understand that. Some companies are in a place to give back for the amazing work of the community and we'd love to do that with monetarily because we've had successes in the industry and tools like yours have contributed to that success. Time is in extremely critical supply for us, so we are not able to contribute there. We prefer to give back as part of our philanthropy in fixes, contributions, etc, but also by monetary means. For many projects, we've been able to provide code contributions - SimpleInjector isn't one of them that has needed such contributions from us as it is solid and flexible!

There are other ways to contribute though.

This is a timely suggestion, I just read their email recently about adding ethical ads to projects to help offset costs. I love how they are open and have mentioned they have a need to do this, but are doing it in a way that I wish EVERY company would take note of. I think this is where we are going to donate.
