Kinda hangs my terminal too, cannot kill this even with Ctrl + C

The VSCode terminal is known to be incomplete and buggy. Can you try running in Terminal app? If that works, you should open an issue on VSCode instead.

Same result on the Terminal App and Hyper.

Also seems to open a vim process for some reason.

Same here.
Makes whole Lens (https://github.com/lensapp/lens) unusable.
OS: UbuntuDDE

Does it make even sense to use this on linux?
