About Me And What I Do

Hi everyone! My name is Dean and I received my B.S. in Computer Science from Oakland University. My passions are creating, innovating, and teaching. A large part of this is shown in my YouTube tutorial videos, which have code that is available open-source on my GitHub repositories.

For those who are hard at hearing, there are also some text-based versions of these tutorial videos available on https://deanin.com.

Current Project

I'm currently working on the 20in20 Challenge for Ruby on Rails. This has quickly become my most popular series, inspiring thousands to improve as full-stack developers and develop skill sets that can help them launch the products they envision. The 20in20 repository is also by far my most popular repository.

Future Projects

In the future I hope to move towards more general tutorials, covering a larger selection of languages in addition to higher-level talks about software engineering and practices. My goal is to eventually help developers who are just starting out to have a roadmap for how to go from a fresh graduate to a project manager or even a business owner. Hopefully, you'll join me along the way!

@Deanout

I'm eternally grateful for the support that my content has received the past year, but I think it's important to appreciate every milestone along the way as its own unique achievement. That said, I know times are tough so please think of yourself before you think of me.

The software developer tier. This is your entry point into the wild world of supporting my endeavors. If you've ever even considered supporting me, I am truly, endlessly grateful.

$15 a month

Select

The Senior Engineer. You've seen my content, and you think it brings value to those around you. You're supporting me to make sure that the juniors on your team have learning resources going forward. If you've selected this tier, I really don't know what to say besides thank you.

$25 a month

Select

The Principal Engineer. You've seen my content, you've talked to me on Discord. Maybe we've even done some paired programming together. You're really only picking this tier because you're hoping I'll work less and maybe consider getting some more sleep. That probably won't happen, but you're trying your best to ensure that more quality learning materials exist for people learning to program.

There really are no words for how much this support means to me.
