About Me

I'm Zac, the maintainer of Squalr and Squally. I have been reverse-engineering games for almost two decades now, and Squalr and Squally are a product of that passion.

Our Projects

Squalr Memory Editor

Squalr was the first software project I ever created. I began working on this when I was 12, and needless to say, it has been rewritten from scratch several times.

Because of this, I have somewhat accidentally become a world exert in dynamic memory analysis tool development. This tool is critical for finding and fixing client-side exploits in games.

Some users intend to use Squalr for malicious purposes, but this is true of any reverse-engineering software tools. My personal favorite use of Squalr is as a tool to help find glitches for old console games, with the hopes that these glitches can be used in speedruns 😊

Squally

Squally is an educational game to teach x86/x64 assembly and bin/dec/hex. While developing Squalr, I realized that most users lacked a fundamental understanding of low-level computer science, and existing learning resources are not very great.

For this reason, I developed Squally and published it to Steam https://store.steampowered.com/app/770200/Squally/

The revenue from Squally allows me to keep Squalr free.

Supporting our Projects

Squalr is free and open-source high performance memory editing software. No gotchas. It will be free forever.

There are two ways to show support for my projects:

  1. Purchase a copy of Squally https://store.steampowered.com/app/770200/Squally/
  2. Sponsor Squalr!

How Sponshorships Help

I frequently flip between self-employment and working at companies, depending on my financial situation. Sponsorships and game sales are incredibly valuable in helping me make the shift to working on Squalr/Squally full-time.

1 sponsor has funded Squalr’s work.

@Squalr

This goal would be more than sufficient for me to go full time working on Squally, Squalr, and any other projects or features that the community finds helpful.
