Hey! I'm Matt Perry, the creator of animation libraries like Framer Motion and Popmotion.

My latest project is Motion One. It's a new animation library built on the browser's native Web Animations API.

Motion One drastically improves WAAPI's developer experience by fixing bugs, cross-browser inconsistencies while also sprinkling some API sugar on top.

Additionally, it introduces new features like springs, stagger, animating independent transforms, timeline sequencing and more.

It's a jQuery for WAAPI! It's tiny too, just 3.3kb for the core animate function. This is tiny compared to other animation libraries like Anime.js, which is 7kb, or Greensock, which is 23kb. There's a full guide explaining the trade-offs and features.

The future

Recently, I released Motion One for Vue, a declarative API similar to Framer Motion. UI animations have never been simpler to create.

In addition to building out existing feature sets, work is also under way to bring this API to more view libraries.
