Currently based in the UK, I have been developing software for over twenty years and am still passionate about it; providing meaningful contributions to larger projects - whether in my personal life or at work - is always a very satisfying feeling.
Open-source embodies that spirit, we are all here to either contribute our own work or to use others' work as a brick to build something bigger. We can achieve amazing things by working together!
I always thought contributing to open-source projects and giving back to the community was important, but this has become harder over time, due to competing priorities. It is not easy to prioritise unpaid vs paid work, and GitHub sponsorships would be a great incentive to ensure I can continue to maintain, grow, and evolve such projects, while contributing to new ones too. 🙂
