Become a sponsor to Phil Jaenke

Hi, I'm RootWyrm, and I've been involved in Open Source since the very early 90's. I contribute on an ad-hoc basis to a variety of projects I use or care about.

Key projects that your sponsorship will help me work on and contribte to:

  • Mono on FreeBSD (both port maintenance and upstream contributions)
  • Porting CoreCLR to FreeBSD
  • TaleCaster - a FreeBSD and Linux media server solution
  • rootcore - handy tools and utilities for system administrators
  • dns_docker Docker containers for building scalable DNS solutions

My primary needs at the moment are non-amd64 hardware for Mono on FreeBSD in order to build a CI infrastructure and newer hardware components to support TaleCaster development.

2 sponsors have funded rootwyrm’s work.

@rootwyrm

This will help me spend more time on the various projects I work on and maintain.

Need some one-on-one with TaleCaster? Need a hand with some of my tools in your environment? This is the tier for you. I get to work on my stuff, you get help using my stuff, it's a win-win.
This tier (and above) also includes access to the BabyDragon, BabyGryphon, MicroDragon, and MicroGryphon hardware build repositories (just as soon as I figure out how to do that.)

"I need someone to write me a THING!"
Okay then! Tell me about that thing, and let's see what I can do for you! Keep it simple though, please. Maybe you need a shell script to audit your users or you need one to audit your cloud instances. At this tier, I'll put something together for you (BSD 4-clause or GPLv2 only, please.)

First of all, you are completely insane.
Second, your wish is my command. Spend all my free time on Mono? Buy a bunch of disks and pour the effort into TaleCaster? Pester FreeBSD src@ to do a thing? Let's get it done!
(Note: excludes device drivers and filesystems.)

"I need a device driver."
Okay. This tier exists SOLELY for this. FreeBSD, NetBSD, or OpenBSD only. i386/amd64 only (other architectures only if you provide full hardware.) You must already have manufacturer reference documentation OR current public manufacturer reference documentation OR a vendor provided driver to be made into a port.
You are also responsible for providing or making available two reasonable hardware samples (production preferred, but development boards may be acceptable.)
