RFC 7807 (supported in HTTP error responses) has been replaced by RFC 9457. There are only minor changes to the spec (and no breaking changes), but technically RFC 7807 now is marked as obsolete.

My guess is that only changes to the documentation may be necessary so that people aren't confused by the fact that now there is a new RFC while Spring only talks about the old RFC.
