Appmesh - please provide a clear explanation (Udemy course)

Hi!

You might have missed questions which were asked over 1 year ago by students (those went unanswered as of right now),
and so for that reason I present it here, hoping that you will notice (otherwise your course so far is amazing, and I rated it 5-stars, but this section is so lacking in explanation and so unclear that I strongly felt that I have to ask).
I saw that many people didn't understand core concepts, and so to be specific:

In the introduction to AppMesh and X-Ray:

• What EXACTLY are these things - it wasn't clear at all in the Introduction video (and still not clear after watching the entire section).

• Why should I bother with Appmesh? What are the advantages?!

-In the chapter "75. Step-04: Create User Management Service with Service Discovery enabled and Test" we have seen that the Service Discovery is happening and it's working properly. So here the question is from your previous AppMesh intro, we have understood that AppMesh is a service discovery service then why you have used it after service discovery?
