Input groups only work if created in the same component

Describe the proposed solution

I created this issue as a feature request and not as a bug fix because this is a known and documented limitation, but I believe it is something that should be adhered to even in legacy mode

I have no idea if this change is really possible, it's just a hope created by #10608, that the internal functioning of the inputs has changed enough for cross component input groups to be possible
