While reading through the TSF website and the plugin readme on .org, I’m wondering why this plugin is not already one of the plugins, that are grouped in the „community“ taxonomy on wp.org?

As you already state:

Premium SEO. Free of charge. Powered by the community.

If one searches for „SEO“ on wp.org/plugins, you find endless plugins from all qualities, but if you make the same search on the „community“ archive, there are only 3! Three plugins.

I think, this could be great chance to reach a wider audience.

I don't think our vision aligns with that of WordPress.org regarding "Community" -- for them, "Community" means "no money incentive allowed."

See this comment thread on Make. Even offering Premium support is considered "Commercial."

At the end of the day, The SEO Framework is bringing food to my table. That will always be on the back of my mind.
Still, what we do with that differentiates a plugin great for the community or great for the wallet.

We'll have to wait for WordPress.org to come up with better classifications. Until then, we will be declined the "Community" tag under their current requirements, and that is something I still want to have open for discussion.
