Update python3 version?

Is there a plan, and a time frame, to update the python3 version from 3.7 to something newer (e.g., 3.11)?

FYI, I'm working on a python-based plugin that, optimistically, will run as-is on macOS, iOS and iPadOS. I'd rather do that on a current release of python instead of something that is five years old.
