There are many dependabot pull requests pending since the summer that needs to be applied; in particular the @types/sinon dependency that currently can result in broken tests due to fake timers issue with 9.0.5; i.e. ./node_modules/@sinonjs/fake-timers/types/fake-timers-src"' has no exported member 'TimerId'. (see sinonjs/sinon#2352 (comment))
