Sequelize now uses Symbol based operators for any statements, instead of $gt, $lt and rest.
Old $* operators have been deprecated and no longer function in latest version of Sequelize.

What time frame to expect it to be patched?
I don't have time to do my own push request, but if I find time, I am considering to do it.
