First issue reported as Strings with spaces are incorrectly divided into more lines (the one discussed here: https://kotlinlang.slack.com/archives/C02UUATR7RC/p1674215445874089?thread_ts=1674207463.128059&cid=C02UUATR7RC).

@Vampire I cannot fully grasp the other one. Would you mind rephrasing the issue in a usage/actual/expected manner, or even better: report the issue straight to https://bitbucket.org/snakeyaml/snakeyaml-engine/? 🙏

I cannot access snakeyaml on BitBucket. o_O

You had PLAIN for single-line strings configured.
This caused null and "null" to be serialized as null and "" as nothing which is equal to null.
Also "true" got written as the boolean true, "false" as the boolean false, "3.0" as the number 3.0 wich is then parsed as 3 while all those should probably automatically be quoted if the plain output would change their meaning.
