What is the expected behaviour for querySelectorAll with inline nodes

does anyone know what the expected behaviour of querySelectorAll is when working with inline nodes?

when i try to call editor.$nodes('mention') or editor.$nodes('text') i always get an empty array

i'm wondering if this is expected or a bug?

looking at the code it seems as though the paragraph node positions have empty .children because of this early return in packages/core/src/NodePos.ts
