Update: wait, if I don't specify the full set of dependencies in my workspaces' package.json files they also won't end up in their local node_modules. Nevermind. |

Summary
Conceptually, if a package's node_modules change it should probably be rebuilt.
This would make it easy to use Turborepo with the "all dependencies in the toplevel package.json" pattern. Right now, it's tricky to tell Turborepo "if a toplevel dependency changes AND one of the workspace packages uses it, please rebuild the package". Depending on node_modules would seem to solve this.
However, I haven't found any mentions of anyone doing this.
Is this a bad idea?
