Diagram rendering is strange as nodes are miles apart

Hi,
I have a hierarchical directed chart and with some nodes-edges combinations the diagram is rendered in a weird way and I see nodes miles apart.
It looks like it's something related to the sortMethod: 'directed', in fact if I use sortMethod: 'hibsize' the rendering looks better.
Can you please investigate why with sortMethod: 'directed' the nodes position is weird?
