Simple benchmarking fails

Describe the bug

When attempting to use benchmarking (which I know is experimental), I get a number of errors being thrown even on a simple benchmark. The one included in the repro is taken directly from the docs.

The reproduction is a fresh vanilla typescript vite app with the latest vitest installed. A single benchmark file is included and was run using npx vitest bench
