As mentioned in the other issues, we highly recommend to update WebdriverIO to v5 as this issue is fixed there. It takes less work as it seems to take depending on how you used WebdriverIO.

Hi @christian-bromann , We are updating one of our applications to use Node.JS version 12. We have encountered issues with this package so did what you suggested above, update webdriverIO to version 5. However, we are also using gulp-webdriver which depends on webdriverIO version 4. Could you update gulp-webdriver to make it compatible with webdriverIO version 5, please? Many thanks
