Clipboard issue: Pyperclip could not find a copy/paste mechanism for your system

I recently installed xonsh on Ubuntu system via pip, and all seems fine except for the clipboard. I cannot copy anything from the terminal, and when trying to paste, I'm getting this pyperclip error.

I installed xsel as recommended here: https://pyperclip.readthedocs.io/en/latest/#not-implemented-error, but the error still occures, so maybe I need to do something else? After searching for possible solutions here and elsewhere, nothing turned up.

Are you install xonsh as pip install 'xonsh[full]'?

Yep, I mean you can't just install pyperclip. I realized you already read https://pyperclip.readthedocs.io/en/latest/index.html#not-implemented-error

I'm not certain this is the answer, tbh. I tried all the options from this page now:

• xcel and xclip were installed, both tell be Can't open display: (null), so I have no idea if that works.
• gtk and PyQt4 could not be found.
  By the way, copy-paste works perfectly fine in bash.
