Vimeo Auth command not working.

I see the "On the next page, enter your unique user code, then click 'Connect Device'", I see the user code, I see the page where I'm supposed to enter the code, and when I do and I submit the code, Vimeo says "Uh oh, something went wrong!" and then "It looks like we're missing some required info, or the info you submitted was invalid. If you go back to the previous page and try again, it may work. If you receive this message again, please contact the app developer."

It doesn't matter how many times I try it, it never works.

How is it supposed to open "the next page"? I enter the commands on an headless Linux machine and I have a browser on another machine logged into the Vimeo account.
I even found https://vimeo.com/activate but it does not work with the code provided by the [vimeo auth] command.
