How is the tail-recursion achieved with ZIO.flatMap

I noticed that the ZIO.loop method is using a flatMap (what a suprise /s) and more importantly that although the flatMap is used, the function appears to be tail-recursive. Can someone help me to understand how that magic is achieved?
