Although still supported, no major feature is planned for the v5 release line and we encourage users and contributors to refer to the new Agent codebase and docs, available in the datadog-agent repository.

We are working on letting you easily extend the Datadog Agent. Right now you can:
- Write your own custom plugins called Agent Checks.
- Parse log files to extract and submit your own metrics and events to Datadog.
