Nexus toolkit for Windows and Linux

What is this project?

cminstaller is a simple script for installing CyanogenMod or almost any other custom ROM on your Google Nexus device. Or simply root your phone !

What do you need to use cminstaller ?

  • A Nexus device, really ! ANY NEXUS ! (S/GNEX/7/10/5/6 and all genereations and variants)
  • A computer with either Microsoft Windows 7/8/8.1, Mac OS, or Linux (tested with Ubuntu)
  • ADT Bundle
  • Select the right version corresponding to your CyanogenMod version!
  • Do not extract these .zip files!
  • All custom ROMs don't need Google Apps since they are already included in the ROM.
  • Instructions:

    1. Place all files in the platform-tools folder of the SDK
    2. Rename your recovery image as recovery.img, CyanogenMod (or any other rom) .zip file as cm.zip and Google Apps .zip file as gapps.zip, and SuperSU as superuser.zip (in Windows you may not need to put .zip or .img in the file name)
    3. Launch the script
      • On Windows right-click on cminstaller.bat and select "Run as administrator"
      • On Linux or Mac OS navigate in terminal to right folder and run "bash cminstaller.sh"
        • On Ubuntu right-click on cminstaller.sh and select "Properties"
        • Then check "Allow executing file as program" on Permissions tab
        • Finally double-click on cminstaller.sh and select "Execute in terminal"
    4. Follow the instructions on screen, you'll see, it's so easy to root or install CM on tour device !
    5. Enjoy your new shiny ROM :)

Where can I download cminstaller ?

    • You can copy source code from GitHub
    • Or go to the Releases page :D
