Tamil Proverb Finder works with Python in Terminal (Basic Python Script) This is a Tamil proverb finder. Entering a word in it will display the proverb that contain that word. It works best on Linux. If your Linux terminal doesn't display Tamil properly, download the Konsole and view it. This finder tool created for adding Usage Examples in Wikidata Tamil Lexemes. Note that I don't know Python well. You can develop this if you wish too.

Texts Sources

The source book is Tamil Proverbs with their English Translation, written by P. Percival. The text of this book is copied from the Wikisource. More books will be added in the future.

How to Use this tool

  1. Download the .zip file
  2. Extract them in your computer
  3. Open the Ternimal and navigate to where the files are stored.
  4. Run python3 finder.py
  5. And type the word or paste the word (copying and pasting is recommend)
