Development Builds

These are pre-release builds which haven't necessarily gone through complete quality assurance (QA) checks.

The up-to-the-minute builds of the AMP plugin's develop branch are available at:

• 2.5.x Development: https://storage.googleapis.com/ampwp_github_artifacts/refs/heads/develop/dev/amp.zip (checksum)
• 2.5.x Production: https://storage.googleapis.com/ampwp_github_artifacts/refs/heads/develop/prod/amp.zip (checksum)

Additionally, each pull request opened in the repo (and not from a fork) will automatically get development builds of the PR branch linked to in a comment.

Installation Instructions

These instructions are for WordPress 5.5+:

1. Download the ZIP for the desired build.
2. Log-in to the WordPress admin.
3. Go to the Plugins > Add New screen.
4. Click the "Upload Plugin" button in the header.
5. Select the ZIP file you downloaded and click "Install Now".
6. If you have an existing version of the AMP plugin installed, you'll now need to confirm to "Replace current with uploaded".
7. If not already active, on the next screen click "Activate Plugin".

✨ QA Tester

A new option for switching between develop branch, release branches, releases, and pull request builds is the QA Tester Plugin. Once installed and active, the admin bar will contain a new menu item indicating the current version of the AMP plugin installed. When the menu is expanded, it allows you to select a different build to install. Once it finishes installing, the page reloads with the new version of the AMP plugin running. To install, download the latest plugin release and follow the instructions above.
