For a description of what xiFastMovie is and a quick guide on how to use it, see

Binaries of xiFastMovie for Windows are also available on that page. Please report any issues on the project pages at Github:

If you want to compile the program, see below.

###############################
# QUICK STEPS FOR COMPILATION #
###############################

xiFastMovie is compatible with Windows and also expected to work on Linux and Mac. To compile it, the steps are: install Qt Creator and the Qt, Boost and xiAPI libraries (binaries and sources); open the .pro file with Qt Creator and compile the project. You may need to fix some library linking issues by editing the .pro file.

#################################################
# A WINDOWS COMPILATION ENVIRONEMENT THAT WORKS #
#################################################

For Windows, since some of the libraries mentionned above are not easy to install, here are quick notes on how to get a compilation environment by downloading already compiled versions of the libraries.

(Tested on Windows 7 and 10, with Qt 5.8.0, Qt Creator 4.2.0. and MSVC 2015)

1. Install Qt Open Source at

  https://www.qt.io/download/

During the installation, make sure to select the msvc2015 64 bits compiler (at least).

2. Install the xiAPI library from the Ximea website:

  https://www.ximea.com/support/wiki/apis/xiAPI

This should install header files and DLLs in C:\XIMEA\API and its subdirectories.

3. Open with Qt Creator the .pro file. Qt will ask how you want to compile the project. Choose Desktop Qt 5.8.0 MSVC2015_64bit (or similar Qt version).

4. Once the Qt project is open, click on the little computer in one of the toolbars to select the "Release" configuration of the program. Then click the little hammer button to compile the program. If successful, this creates an executable in build-xifastmovie-Desktop_Qt_5_8_0_MSVC2015_64bit-Release\release. To test the program, launch cmd.exe, browse to the executable directory and type

  xifastmovie.exe --help

This should print a list of available options.
