I am so excited for this. It is the biggest hurdle for adoption at work.

Not complaining or something, but wasn't the plan to have several 1.0.0-pre first for smooth 1.0.0?

That seems strange to me. 1.0 is a social construct, not a real guarantee that it's any more or less production ready than 0.1. There are still known bugs, and every 1.0 lang I'm aware of had bugs on release. But Idk.

That is correct, however certain company policies might say no production system should be built on a language or tool that hasn't reached out 1.0, which can me immediately refuted by stating that huge projects like React Native and many others are still in the 0.x versions and constantly used in production (source). 🤷🏽

Policies, fear of the unknown, whatever, I'm just happy to see Crystal putting the 1.0 🏷️(label) 😄

Congratulations Crystal team! 🎉 🥳 👏🏽

Do we need to change the project status too? (especially the part about breaking changes)

Will this ship with Apple silicon support?

@jwaldrip There will be no binary distribution for Apple silicon for 1.0. Its support and instructions to compiler a native aarch64 darwin compiler are detailed in #10348

I'd prefer to release 1.0.0-pre first, but the changelog looks fine except for the small typo.
