LudumPad is born out of my interest in silly local multiplayer mini-games.

One of the problems with local multiplayer games is that the number of simultaneous players is limited by:

• the console's controller hard limit
• the amount of controllers you own for that console in specific

Xbox One can support up to 8 controllers. However, if you want to use 8 Xbox One controllers, that means that you need to:

• store 8 controllers
• bring those 8 controllers with you
• take care of having their batteries charged (unless you prefer also bringing a Hub and 8 micro-USB cables)
• Each controller costs around $50. $400 for 8 controllers.
