We are currently on v1.8 release series. Every 7-10 days you will expect a new minor version available. Our current release cycle is continuous and fast. During v1.8 you will expect stability, no breaking changes, and a small new feature set. The next planned releases are:
- v1.8.4: target date: August 06th, 2021
- v1.8.3: target date: July 28th, 2021
- v1.8.2: released on July 20th, 2021
Our primary area of focus on v1.8 are:
- Metrics: we launched native metrics support. Expect new metrics collectors and improvements on our Prometheus-based output plugins.
- Multiline: new core API for multiline handling, still being extended. This doesn't replace old multiline mechanisms (yet)
Fluent Bit uses the concept of major and minor versions. As of July 2021, we are on the v1.8 release series. In this case, 1.8 is considered a major, and every major is released every 3 or 4 months.
The release schedule is not fixed and is accommodated based on new upcoming features coming from different individuals and companies contributing to the project.
