Hey thanks for the PR! I'm going to ask that we don't implement this though; we want this repository to be as easy as possible for anyone to contribute photos to, I don't want to add the extra step of shortening the URL.
I also want there to be a distinction between Hack Club events and events ran by others, I don't want us to come off as claiming ownership of their photos.
