Decorate

A React application that renders beautiful, customisable tweets by fetching and aggregating data from the Twitter API.

Decorate

Description

A website to create beautiful, customisable tweets with support for reactions, images, replies and threads. You can customise the background colour, theme, size and more and then save or copy the image.

Motivation

This was a fun project that served as practice of data aggregation and sequential network requests as well as using functional programming paradigms in React with TypeScript; it also encapsulated Node and Express as well as an opportunity to leverage Lambda serverless functions, S3, CloudFront and Route 53.

Technologies

  • TypeScript.
  • React.
  • React Query.
  • React Error Boundary.
  • Ramda.
  • Tailwind.
  • Node.
  • Express.
  • Lambda serverless functions.
  • S3.
  • CloudFront.
  • Route 53.

This project was bootstrapped with Create React App.

Available Scripts

In the project directory, you can run:

npm start

Runs the app in the development mode.
Open http://localhost:3000 to view it in the browser.

The page will reload if you make edits.
You will also see any lint errors in the console.

npm test

Launches the test runner in the interactive watch mode.
See the section about running tests for more information.

npm run build

Builds the app for production to the build folder.
It correctly bundles React in production mode and optimizes the build for the best performance.

The build is minified and the filenames include the hashes.
Your app is ready to be deployed!

See the section about deployment for more information.
