BUILD: Add support for creating packages #5006
base: master
Are you sure you want to change the base?
Conversation
@crknadle if I am not mistaken you are the current maintainer of the Mumble Debian package, correct? If that is true, could you help me with the dependency list that I need to specify? For context: This PR is about teaching cmake how to create a .deb (and maybe others as well) package of Mumble. |

Sorry I missed this email. Yes I can help with that.
Dependencies in Debian packages are specified in the debian/control file for the
package.
Two resources I can offer:
Lucus Nussbaum's Debian packaging tutorial
https://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/packaging-tutorial/packaging-tutorial.en.pdf
Detailed description of debian/control file in Debian Policy:

I'm willing to help more than simply pointing at documentation -- I'm just
starting there because that's the logical starting point. Contact me directly
via email if you'd like more direct help.

With the current code, I seem to be able to generate reasonable-looking packages for the client and for the server |
