As a descendant from Cloud9 v2, this project is currently under transition to use a new name - Pylon. See Issue #48 for more details about it.
Before the current c9.io offering, there was an open sourced (GPL) version of Cloud9 with a commercial hosting offering. The whole thing was ahead of it's time. Unfortunately, after numerous investment rounds and before Amazon AWS decided to acquire Cloud9 IDE Inc. the development of Cloud9 was shifted from and open-source license to a custom one that prohibits commercial use.
This project tries to keep alive and build upon the version that came before that shift. Welcome to the Wiki of Pylon - the open source web based IDE.
