Add some release tests

Adding some release tests. I wanted to get a few in before going far too far down the path of adding tests, get some feedback and a feel for how you want it done.

I was able to figure out that I needed to install pnpm which isn't something I had heard of before and was able to run the recommended commands and fix the linter errors (finally)!
