I've had a nice styles structure in my head (heavily abusing placeholders & extends), and as I was writing it I was hit by a fact that stylus doesn't support nested @extends.

Dunno which issue to +1 or query the ETA in. Hope this one? :)

@darsain ATM this patch fixes only #508, but, yes, eventually all issues that you mentioned will be fixed. Unfortunately @extend is a complex feature and i'm really busy right now, so we don't have any ETA yet.
