doesn't close the other dependabot ones. they're all semi-involved, so would need to be handled individually
I'd like to take a stab at fixing #312, but needed this PR first as I can't easily develop against the project due to the old pnpm version. It would be helpful to merge this, but not cut a release until I'm able to address that issue as well as they're both potentially breaking changes, so it makes sense to batch them together into a single release
