To launch the application we will start in production mode.
RAILS_ENV=production bundle exec rails s
You should now be able to see a local version of the project at http://localhost:3000
###Viewing the presentation There is a powerpoint presentation inside the repository called 'Rails-Caching-Presentation.pptx'. This contains information about rails caching: explanations and examples using the project.
###About the project The project was created using the Rails Getting Started tutorial http://guides.rubyonrails.org/getting_started.html On certain pages such as the article pages, we implement the rails caching function to decrease the load on the server. This provides the application with much better efficiency loading pages and making requests to the server.
The powerpoint goes into some detail about how to use the project and how to see the results of the caching. There are explanations of how the caching function works and we provide some ways to use it and speed up page requests.
